The Whycocomagh Eco-Centre encourages connections with nature and culture through environmental programs and promotes awareness of the pristine environment and rich culture of Cape Breton.

The Eco-Centre is located in Whycocomagh and overlooks the incredible shores of the Bras d’Or Lakes. These famous Lakes are a blend of salt and fresh water that have given rise to unique aquatic life.

Our aim is to provide opportunities for connecting to this beautiful part of the world, coming to know it through experience.

Our mission is to develop and provide experiences in nature that will create a connection to and an understanding of our relationship with the Earth community.

Our Summer Tourist Programs introduce tourists to beautiful Cape Breton while implanting knowledge about the need to protect this fragile environment. The Eco-Camps the Centre hosts allows kids to have fun while learning valuable lessons about environmental protection.

The main focus of the Whycocomagh Eco-Centre is to facilitate and promote awareness, appreciation, knowledge of the connections between nature and culture.

Our goal is to educate society about the value and importance of a healthy and sustainable world and to respect and appreciate all the wonderful gifts our earth. We are not here to make people feel overwhelmed and frustrated about the numerous environmental issues and problems. We are here to make people feel empowered through all the small things to help the earth! By coming to know our earth connections we will help to move closer to a life–centered world.
